May 30, 2025

MOBILE, Alabama – Charvez Green has been sentenced to Life in Prison announces Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood.

On June 19, 2022, at a crawfish boil at a mutual friend’s house, Charvez Green was lying in wait inside the home for Karlos Pettway and shot him five times, causing his death. Last month, a Mobile County jury deliberated for a few hours before finding Charvez Green guilty for Karlos Pettway’s murder.

Yesterday Judge Brooks sentenced Charvez Green to Life in Prison.

“Today’s sentence reflects the seriousness of the offense and ensures accountability,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “These violent attacks on members of our community must stop.”

Charvez Green is currently serving consecutive federal sentences and then will serve this life sentence.

The State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys Stuart Lang and Dru Stuardi along with Trial Coordinator Carolyn Lambeth and Victim Service Officer Leigha Arthur.
