MOBILE, AlabamaThe Mobile County District Attorney’s Office announces that a new task force, in collaboration with the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, Mobile Police Department and the U.S. Marshals has executed three arrest warrants on secret indictments.

Within a week of the Grand Jury reporting, the new task force has executed arrest warrants on the following:

David Morgucz – Charged with 40 counts of child pornography

Brian Phillips – Charged with 2 counts of sexual abuse (victim under the age of 12)

Jack Cain – Charged with rape 2nd (victim 12-16 years old) and sodomy 2nd (victim 12-16 years)

This task force was formed to expedite arrests on dangerous defendants who have been secretly indicted, beginning their prosecution in court much sooner than before. The task force will also identify and seek out the most dangerous defendants that are an immediate threat to the community who have active arrest warrants and existing court cases.

“This new task force is one of many things we are doing to make our community safer and hold offenders accountable,” says Keith Blackwood, Mobile County District Attorney. “It will have an immediate impact. We are committed to eliminating the backlog of cases in our court system to make justice swift once again.”

“The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office has over 40 Special Operations deputies designated to participate at any time with this task force,” says Sheriff Paul Burch. “Our goal is to remove all violent offenders from our community.”
