National Crime Victims Week

This year, National Crime Victims' Rights Week will be commemorated April 6-12, 2025.

Crimes of every kind, violent and non-violent, are committed every day and people are forced to deal with unwanted changes and untold losses in their lives.  Our office takes great pride in creating an environment where victims have the confidence that they will be heard, believed and supported. National Crime Victims’ Rights Week is a time to come together as a community to stand with victims of crime.

The Luminary Project is  back for a second year inviting citizens to create a luminary in honor of or in memory of a loved who was a victim of a crime in our community, announces the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

A table will be set up in the Atrium of Government Plaza beginning on March 28 equipped with the bags and writing utensils to create the luminary. The luminaries will be collected at noon on April 10 at noon and will be displayed at the annual National Crime Victims Vigil later that evening, also in the Atrium of Government Plaza.

National Crime Victims Vigil and Resource Fair will be April 10th at 6:00 pm in the Atrium located inside Government Plaza. Victim Services providers and community agencies will be available with resources. A Vigil will also be held in honor of those who have lost their lives due to crime. If you have lost a loved one due to violence, we invite you to bring a picture that will be placed on a remembrance board.
