FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 11, 2024

MOBILE, Alabama – A Mobile County jury has convicted Tyrone Williams of 2 counts of Domestic Violence announces the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office.

This morning, a jury of his peers found Tyrone Williams guilty of Domestic Violence 1st/Burglary and Domestic Violence 1stAssault. Prosecutors with the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, Coy Morgan and Katherine Wick presented testimony that Tyrone Williams, after a night of drinking on September 4, 2023, kicked in his girlfriend’s front door and shot her with a .45 pistol in her stomach, in front of her three children.  The victim suffered life-threatening injuries but survived and was in court this week to courageously face the defendant.

Based on Williams’ four prior convictions, including prior felony domestic violence convictions in another state, the defendant sentencing range is Life in Prison or Life in Prison Without Parole.

“Committing a crime of this nature, especially in front of children, is atrocious,” says Jennifer Susman, Chief Assistant District Attorney, Mobile County District Attorney’s Office. “Hearing these types of cases can be challenging and we thank the jury for their commitment to finding the truth.”

The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney’s Coy Morgan and Katherine Wick along with Trial Coordinator Shyla White. Sentencing for Tyrone Williams is set for March 13, 2024.
