Mobile Man Pled Guilty to Shooting into Midtown Mobile Hungry Howies

MOBILE, Alabama – Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood announces that Marcus Rowe Jr. has pled guilty to the crimes of Shooting into an Occupied Building and Certain Persons Forbidden relating to a 2022 February incident at Hungry Howies in Midtown Mobile. 

On February 26, 2022, Marcus Rowe Jr. and a co-worker got into a dispute that ended with Rowe pulling out a firearm and firing into the direction of his co-worker, ultimately shooting into the Midtown restaurant. No one was injured throughout the course of this incident.

This morning, before set to go to trial, Marcus Rowe Jr. pled guilty to both crimes as charged. Judge Brooks sentenced Rowe to 20 years, split to serve five years with five years formal probation.  

“We have witnessed a troubling rise in gun violence that threatens the safety and well-being of our communities,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “This type of violence must end, and we must work towards a future where everyone can live without fear.

The State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys Stuart Lang and Daniel Morris as well as Trial Coordinator Carolyn Lambeth.
