MOBILE, Alabama – The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office announces a Voyeurism 1st charge for Richard Hightower.
Monday, November 13, investigators at the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office as well as deputies at the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and Jackson County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at Hightower’s home in Moss Point, Mississippi. Hightower waived extradition and was brought to Mobile to face this new charge.
At a bench trial earlier this month, a Mobile County District Court Judge found Hightower guilty of Indecent Exposure for an April 2023 incident where Hightower indecently exposed his genitalia to students at the University of South Alabama. Hightower was sentenced to one year in jail, split to serve four months in jail, and one year of probation. The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office was subsequently made aware of an incident where Richard Hightower allegedly photographed a minor in an intimate area.
“Due to his previous felony convictions in the state of Mississippi, Richard Hightower is a habitual offender, and we will fully prosecute the alleged criminal acts,” said Keith Blackwood, Mobile County District Attorney.
The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office requests anyone with information, or if you have been victimized by Richard Hightower in Mobile County, Mississippi or elsewhere to please reach out to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office Chief Investigator, Don Gomien at 251-574-6681 or dongomien@mobileda.org
