MOBILE, Alabama – A Mobile County jury has found Jaymon Johnson guilty on all counts in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting that claimed the life of Dajarra Jackson and endangered multiple juveniles.
The jury returned guilty verdicts late Friday afternoon (April 10) on charges of Murder, Attempted Murder, Assault in the First Degree, Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.
The convictions stem from a March 2023 drive-by shooting in which 34-year-old Dajarra Jackson was killed. A 15-year-old victim was struck, suffering a grazing gunshot wound, while three additional juveniles were also targeted in the shooting.
District Attorney Keith Blackwood issued the following statement:
“This verdict is the result of hard work by law enforcement, prosecutors, and a jury that carefully considered the evidence and delivered justice. Violence of this kind has no place in our community. Drive-by shootings don’t just target individuals—they put entire neighborhoods at risk, and the consequences must be clear.”
The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Jessica Catlin, along with Trial Coordinators Haley Landry and Stacia Rogers.
Sentencing for Jaymon Johnson is scheduled for June 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
