MOBILE, Alabama – A Mobile County jury has found Joseph Timmons guilty of Murder and Robbery First Degree, announced District Attorney Keith Blackwood.
The convictions stem from the October 21, 2022, killing of Triston Bohannon, who was shot and killed by Tre’Vion Collins-Smiley during a robbery. Collins-Smiley has since been convicted and sentenced to two life sentences. Testimony presented during trial revealed that Timmons acted as the link between Collins-Smiley and Bohannon, arranging for Bohannon to be at the park and knowingly participating in the plan that led to his death.
Wednesday afternoon, after deliberating for almost two days, the jury returned guilty verdicts against Timmons.
District Attorney Keith Blackwood issued the following statement:
“Joseph Timmons helped set this crime in motion by luring Triston Bohannon to that park, fully aware of what was planned. He is every bit as responsible for Triston’s murder as Tre’Vion Collins-Smiley who pulled the trigger. This week’s verdict makes clear that everyone involved in taking a life will be held accountable.”
The State of Alabama was represented by Assistant District Attorney Stuart Lang, Trial Coordinator Carla Nealy, and Victim Services Officer Leigha Arthur.
Sentencing for Joseph Timmons is scheduled for May 20, 2026.
