FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 5, 2026

MOBILE, Alabama –  A Mobile County jury has found Moses Richardson guilty of Murder in the February 7, 2023, killing of Destiny Watson, District Attorney Keith Blackwood announced Wednesday.

Following a trial that concluded on February 4, 2026, jurors returned a guilty verdict after hearing evidence that Richardson fatally shot Watson during a confrontation at a gas station on St. Stephens Road. Testimony established that the shooting stemmed from ongoing disputes involving Richardson, his girlfriend Adrianna Gossett, Watson, and Watson’s boyfriend.

Prosecutors presented evidence that Richardson armed himself with an AR-15 rifle before traveling to the gas station, where a verbal altercation escalated and Richardson fired two fatal shots into Watson’s chest and abdomen.

“What began as an argument ended in a young woman losing her life because someone chose to escalate a situation with a deadly weapon,” said District Attorney Keith Blackwood. “The evidence showed this was a calculated decision, and the jury made it clear that such violence will be met with serious consequences under the law.”

The State was represented by Assistant District Attorney Coy Morgan, Trial Coordinator Kristine Henderson and Victim Service Officer Leigha Arthur.

Sentencing for Moses Richardson is scheduled for April 17, 2026.  Richardson faces a possible sentence ranging from 20 years to life in prison. Adrianna Gossett also faces a pending murder charge related to this incident, with her trial date to be determined.
